Northern Beaches Respiratory and Sleep is a small respiratory practice looking to set up a respiratory function laboratory. We pride ourselves on patient centred care to deliver best practice in respiratory investigations.
Qualifications & experience
- Completed undergraduate/postgraduate degree in science with a strong component in human physiology
- Prior experience as a Respiratory Scientist in a respiratory function laboratory is essential
- A professional appearance with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to work independently
- Professional, friendly disposition, with an ability to remain calm in adverse situations
- High standard of work ethic - self motivated, trustworthy, punctual, and takes pride in work
- Current certification in CPR
Tasks & responsibilities
- Conduct complex lung function tests including spirometry, lung volumes, diffusing capacity and respiratory muscle strength.
- Computer skills including word processing, spread sheet application and clinical information systems
- Maintain quality assurance practices including calibration and Maintenance of equipment as per the respiratory and sleep services accreditation standards.
- Liaise closely with the Practice Manager and the Medical Directors of the clinic to ensure smooth operation of the lab.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with patients, respiratory specialists, and external clinicians
