We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Restaurant Manager experienced in high-end dining to lead the team at Chancery Lane.
Chancery Lane is a contemporary European bistro in the beautiful Normanby Chambers heritage building on Little Collins St, paying homage to a bygone era with its opulent interiors and elevated bistro fare.
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Restaurant Manager or Assistant Manager looking to make a decisive career move. We are looking for a passionate professional who wants to join this incredible team and provide exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
As Restaurant Manager, you will
- Have at least 3+ years previous management experience
- Be career driven with a real passion for the hospitality industry
- Show a strong work ethic and a can-do attitude
- Always maintain exceptional presentation and grooming
- Have a great eye for detail and design
- Understand what it is to go ‘the extra mile’ for the guest
- Be passionate about team training and development
- Have a genuine interest in food, premium hospitality and service
- Be able to work a flexible roster including weekends, and some public holidays (We are closed Sundays)
- Have extensive knowledge of the restaurant industry (Melbourne knowledge and experience is a bonus)
- Have strong communication and organisational skills and experience in managing and leading a motivated and driven team
- Have a strong financial acumen relevant to labour and cost control – meeting budgets and targets will be vital to succeed in this role
- Be able to make a significant contribution to the success of the brand
- Oversee our 80 seat a la carte restaurant, 40 seat private dining room and 15 seat bar
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to;
- Managing the front of house team
- Training and mentoring your team to foster their personal development and career progression
- Ensuring a successful, profitable and consistent operation of the restaurant and bar
- Establishing relationships with both front of house and back of house team
- Restaurant administrative and reporting functions
