An exciting opportunity is available for a Domestic Violence Senior Clinician to join the Safer Pathways team as the Program Coordinator. The Domestic Violence Senior Clinician provides a professional social work/psychology service to clients/family/carers to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes for those identified as vulnerable and at risk with a particular focus on domestic and family violence. This care is provided both directly to the client and via being a point of escalation and consultation for NBMLHD staff.The role requires the provision of a specialist high quality Psychosocial service including comprehensive assessment and delivery of a range of interventions for clients of the District. The position provides specialised consultation to internal and external service providers. As a senior clinician, the social worker/psychologist is required to demonstrate clinical specialty in the area of domestic and family violence and demonstrated ability to provide supervision and clinical leadership within the District to support the provision of evidenced based care. With the Priority Populations Manager will be responsible for the management, planning and implementation and quality improvement activities. The Senior Clinician has extensive specialist knowledge and demonstrates advanced clinical reasoning to provide a clinical service of complex nature in conjunction with ongoing consultative support and collaborative interventions with staff within the team and across the district.An eligibility list may be created for future vacancies.About us:

Or Senior Psychology: Accredited Psychology degree with general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and completion of a minimum one year full time equivalent hours at the 9th year of service as a psychologist. Or Clinical Psychologist / Forensic Psychologist: Accredited Masters / Doctoral degree in Clinical or Forensic Psychology and general registration with endorsement or working towards endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated high level skills, experience and use of high level professional judgement in clinical practice with a specialised focus on providing responses to victims of domestic and family violence and their children. Knowledge of health service delivery and referral options for these clients; including legislative and policy context.
- Demonstrated advanced understanding of the dynamics and effects of domestic violence on victims and their children. Best practice principles for reducing domestic violence with both victim and persons causing harm. Sound understanding of trauma informed principles.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal direct supervision. Ability to plan, implement, evaluate and report on services, and high level knowledge/ experience of quality management and leadership processes.
- Demonstrated experience in provision of case management and clinical supervision in a clinical setting and demonstrated ability to apply professional knowledge and judgement when performing novel, complex or critical tasks.
- Proven ability working with a high level of cultural competence with people who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, those who are culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) and/ or come from a range of socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Proven excellent interpersonal and communication and networking skills, including, verbal and written forms and an ability to practice within the Primary Health Care Framework, including building effective partnerships with other relevant government, non-government and community organisations.
- Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
