About the Role
Safety Coordinator role reports to the Safety Manager within the Practice, Quality and Safety team. This role is responsible for promoting the importance of safe work practices and safety culture across Unisson. The role will focus on ensuing greater safety awareness at Unisson by systematically being involved in the development of workplace Health and Safety across Unisson.
Responsibilities
· Identify the need for local safety initiatives and elevate them to the Manager, Safety for consideration
· Establish and maintain strong relationships with Managers / Team Leaders and staff across Unisson to help develop their understanding of risks and reduce injuries in the workplace
· Assist in developing, implementing, and reviewing the Site Safety Action Plans across all sites at Unisson
· Deliver systematic mandatory and specialised training Region wide; ensure that WHS induction and on boarding processes are applied across the region for all new employees
Skills and Knowledge Required
· Minimum 3 years of experience in the Work, Health & Safety domain preferably in the Healthcare or Social Assistance sectors
· Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (Minimum)
· Sound knowledge of NSW WHS Legislation, codes, and standards
· Demonstrated understanding of the Not for Profit (NFP) sector
· NSW Drivers licence
