Cairns Jockey Club are seeking a Sales & Events Co-Ordinator to join the team!
The Club runs 20 race meetings annually, including the Red Beret Hotel Cairns Cup and Cairns Amateurs Carnivals, and operates as an event and function center throughout the year.
The successful applicant will ideally come with prior experience in sales, marketing and events coordination, specifically focusing on the following:
- An enthusiasm for finding, developing and winning business.
- Ability to work autonomously and show initiative.
- Experience coordinating large corporate events.
- Well developed customer service skills and strong attention to detail.
- Effective organisational, administration and time management skills
- Food and Beverage Industry knowledge
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Accounting Software.
Specifically, the role will be responsible for:
- Marketing the Club to prospective function clients.
- Liaise with clients and Club Officers to coordinate event and functions.
- Developing function packages.
- Work closely with the operations team to deliver successful events.
- Event marketing, sales, administration and reporting as required.
Additional Responsibilities of the position:
- Report directly to the General Manager
- Management and recruitment of Memberships
- Manage and secure Sponsorships
- Coordinate race meeting and race day events
- Facilitate all aspects of venue hire for commercial, private and community groups
- Management administration duties including but not limited to;

- Strong computer literacy

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Interpersonal skills - confidence, professionalism, integrity and strong sense of accountability
- Ability to perform steadily and maintain workload during peak times for reasonable periods of time
