The role
Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the position will focus on the acquisition, management and growth of customer accounts throughout Western Australia.
More specifically, you will be involved in the following;
- Developing and executing sales strategies to target key accounts throughout WA;
- Maintaining professional relationships with the relevant key decision makers in target organisations;
- Researching, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities;
- Providing technical advice, product support and recommendations to current and prospective clients;
- Researching, identifying and developing new product and market opportunities;
- Producing fortnightly sales activity reports and participating in fortnightly sales meetings;
- Representing the organisation at tradeshows, conferences, and other relevant industry events; and
- Monitoring competitors' landscape and reporting relevant information back to the organisation.
Required Experience
- 5+ years' experience in a similar senior sales / business development role, preferably within the electrical distribution or a related technical area;
- A professional, yet down to earth approach with strong presentation, communication and interpersonal skills;
- Electrical trade or relevant technical knowledge (mechanical or electrical) would be an asset;
- Prior experience selling a technical product or a demonstrated ability and willingness to learn;
- Highly motivated with demonstrated ability to grow sales and win new business;
- Demonstrated experience targeting and winning work in electrical utilities or commercial, industrial and infrastructure sector;
- Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills;
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team;
- Experience with modern CRM's and other office technology tools; and
- Willing to travel regionally throughout WA.
