Salary Range: $30.62 - $31.29 per hour pending experience
Tenure: Term Time, Fixed Term
Hours: 25 hours per week

About the role
Southern Cross Catholic College is currently seeking a School Officer - Manual Arts. This is a fixed term position, working 25 hours per week for Term 1 of the 2024 teaching year.
The School Officer - Manual Arts provides efficient and high quality support to teachers with the preparation and/or enhancement of learning materials for the efficient running of the Industrial Arts Department at the College, and will work in collaboration with teachers to provide support and guidance to assist students with learning and development.
About You
- Ability to organise and prioritise a range of tasks and set priorities to meet deadlines in a busy environment
- Experience in metal trades with machinery knowledge and skills
- Understanding and ability to develop links between the school community
- Well developed oral communication skills, especially in relation to staff, students and community
- Good written, verbal, visual and non-verbal communication skills to ensure positive engagement with staff, parents and visitors
- Enthusiastic, energetic, flexible with a proactive attitude
- Flexible and responsive to the needs of the school community and driven to achieve the best outcomes for students.
- Current Working with Children Suitability Card - The successful candidate will require a paid Blue Card before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by Queensland Government
- A background working with timber and/or metal fabrication, or an ability to transfer skills
