The Role

- Prospects: Prospecting into C-Suite, Executives, Senior Management across Municipal Councils, Dairy, Mining, Recycling, Large Scale Food Production, this individual must be confident in these arenas as a minimum.

Key Requirements and Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing strategic plans to expand the company’s customer base and achieve long-term goals and objectives.
- Market Research and Analysis: Research and target new markets for our current wastewater offerings, including identifying top targets by industry, location and market potential.
- Building Relationships: Establishing and nurturing relationships with potential clients, partners, and stakeholders. This may involve attending industry events across the country.
- Sales and Negotiations: Attending client site visits and pre-tender meetings. Preparation of commercial and technical proposals and tenders. Presentation of offerings to clients and stakeholders and closing deals to ensure consistent work for the project team and cash flow for the business.
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Maintaining CRM systems to track leads and opportunities. Ensure leads and opportunities are effectively managed and followed up on, manage ongoing and future customer relationships, pipeline forecasting, and analysis of sales data.
- Reporting and Analysis: Tracking and analysing key performance metrics to evaluate the success of the Business Development efforts. Participate in sales/commercial management meetings as required – as well as any relevant company-wide meetings.
The Candidate
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Work Ethic: Self-starter, grafter, cold caller, hard yards, failure, rejection, self-belief.
- Technical: Engineering mind, problem solver. A technical degree, or similar qualification is preferable but not essential.
- Connections/Gravitas: Comfortable engaging with C-Suite, Senior Management, networking, building relationship, long play.
- Team: Working with others, appreciate the need for subject matter experts etc.
The successful candidate:
- Clear indications of commercial acumen, with experience in dealing with customers in a technical business to business environment and a history of delivering results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric focus. A good communicator, you will form strong relationships, be adept at collaboration, have strong organisational and commercial skills and be able to build both trust and strong performance.
- Enthusiastic about understanding technologies, platforms and solving customer problems.
- Passionate about growing a safer, cleaner, and healthier future for everyone every day.
