Senior Finance Officer

THE OPPORTUNITY

Salary: $70,973 - $76,352 per annum pro rata + 11% super + annual leave loading (dependant on qualifications and experience).
Time Fraction: Full Time, 1.0 EFT.  
Location: Chadstone campus.
WWCC: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining and maintaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check.
Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Police Check.
Position Status: Ongoing contract of employment, with a 6-month qualifying period.

The Chief Financial Officer portfolio is in search for a Senior Finance Officer to play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations at Holmesglen Institute.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing essential support to key stakeholders and will assist in the development and management of budgets, financial plans, and forecasts for funding.  Additionally, you'll support departmental operational staff with financial management related to construction projects and services contracts and provide specialised financial reporting and commentary related to departmental funds under management, building asset management and functional areas of responsibility.

Ensuring compliance with Institute requirements and procedures will be essential, including overseeing asset management and maintenance programs within approved budgets. Your expertise in reviewing and reconciling departmental expenditure against approved budgets will be instrumental in maintaining financial accuracy.

ABOUT YOU

• Degree qualification and experience in a relevant field. Lesser formal qualifications may be accepted subject to significant relevant work experience.
• Understanding of automated financial and general ledger accounting systems. Familiarity with Technology One Finance Accounting software would be an advantage.
• Knowledge and understanding of Government financial and procurement practices, budgetary procedures and relevant legislation.
• Relevant experience in the financial operations of a large, complex and diverse organisation.
• Demonstrated initiative, problem solving and research skills necessary to recommend appropriate solutions to identified problems.
• Ability to function autonomously, work independently and/or coordinate work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Advanced skills in the use of MS Excel and competence with other MS Office applications and database management software.
