AddressOur client is a leading insurance organisation with excellent culture and flexible, hybrid working environment. They have a large finance team and a number of exciting finance projects currently underway. Due to an internal secondment they currently have an opportunity for a technically astute Senior Accountant with insurance experience to join their high calibre financial control team.
Reporting into the Financial controller, this position will focus primarily on Statutory and Regulatory reporting with key involvement in a number of major finance projects.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Hands on delivery of financial and statutory reporting and related activities
- Preparation of APRA regulatory reports
- Group reporting and consolidations
- Analysis of financial reporting results and production of board reports and audit committee papers
- Assisting with implementation of accounting standards and advice on accounting standards relating to mergers and acquisitions
- involvement in numerous finance and finance transformation projects.
Required skills and experience:
- CA/CPA qualified accountant from either Big 4 audit firm (with financial services/insurance clients) or currently a financial/statutory/regulatory accountant within a financial services or insurance company
- Sound knowledge and experience of financial reporting, statutory accounting and related IFRS standards
- Experience with preparing or auditing APRA returns
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Excellent financial system and process improvement skills
