About the opportunity
Sitting in the finance team and reporting directly to the CFO, the Senior Revenue Accountant will be responsible for revenue collection, reconciliation, and recognition functions within a Community Services Not for Profit organisation currently operating across two states.
The new Revenue Accountant will have previous experience of working within the AASB15 standards, and with a commitment to continuous improvement, the role will provide a business partnering service to Program Managers.
Duties will include:
- Ensuring all revenue processes are accurately documented and aligned to policies and procedures
- Performing month-end close activities
- Monitoring accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to provide input for revenue forecasting
- Producing high quality, accurate and timely Board & Management Reporting
- Managing the development, implementation, and maintenance of revenue related company policies
- Staying updated on the accounting standards and regulations related to revenue recognition
- Working to identify opportunities for process development
The successful candidate will have:
- Relevant accounting qualifications
- Experience of revenue accounting specifically
- Good working knowledge of AASB15 standards
- CA/CPA qualification (desirable but not essential)
- Experience in a similar Community Services, Not for Profit organisations, (Employment Services experience would be desirable but not essential)
- Experience working on government contracts (desirable not essential)
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and prioritising skills
- The ability to build rapport and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and provide a business partnering function
- The ability to work to a high standard with exceptional organisational skills and strong attention to detail
- Excellent time management, and able to work well under pressure to meet agreed deadlines
- Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check and Police Check
