Form of workOur client seeks a Senior Project HSE Advisor to join their site based team in rural New South Wales . On offer is an initial 12 month project on a 2 and 1 FIFO basis.
As a Senior Project HSE Advisor, you will be responsible for providing Health, Safety & Environment advice in line with legislative requirements and assist in Management and Contractors with the implementation of Health, Safety, and Environmental Management activities for the Project.
What you’ll do
The role responsibilities include:
- Undertaking HSE duties as directed by Project HSE Manager consistent with the requirements of the HSE Management System.
- Monitoring compliance with the Project HSEMP and other Health and Safety Procedures and Plans as required.
- Support and advise Site contractors and supervisors with the implementation of and compliance with Statutory requirements, the Project Health, Safety and Environment Management Plan (HSEMP), and HSEC deliverables.
- Prepare and deliver targeted HSEC training as required.
- Ensure all incidents are investigated to the required standard and within required timeframes.
- Ensure project injury management processes are executed effectively.
- Facilitate HSEC related forums and risk workshops as required and maintain project HSEC administrative processes as required by Project HSE Manager.
- Influence, coach and mentor contractors’ own HSE personnel.
What you’ll have
- Experience as an HSE Advisor within mining/construction industry and familiarity with the relevant HSE legislation and standards.
- A sound understanding of integrated management systems.
- Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline, return to Work Coordinator qualifications, ICAM, TAPROOT or similar, Senior First Aid Certificate and White Card.
- Extensive technical, practical and leadership experience HSE and experience in strategic planning and driving HSE performance.
- Effectively manages change to work tasks and the work environment, and assists others with adapting to change.
- A person of integrity who is trusted by others and consistently honours their commitments.
- Able to identify issues, problems and opportunities; make timely decisions; develop appropriate and innovative solutions; and ask for assistance if required.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills, proactive, goal oriented with excellent attention to detail, has the ability to engage all stakeholders, convey information and ideas to others, and make presentations when required.
- Demonstrates initiative and a willingness to learn and continuously improve on performance.
- Able to work on multiple projects of various size and complexity, work effectively in small to large multi-disciplinary teams, and share and transfer knowledge within teams.
- Experience as an HSE Advisor in a FIFO role within the Construction/Mining sector.
- Demonstrate a visible and active commitment to: personal well-being; healthy and safe workplaces and activities; and continuously improve the health, safety and environmental performance.
