Reporting to the Manager of the Adult Cyber Abuse Section, the senior investigator will work within a multi-disciplinary team to investigate and take appropriate action against seriously harmful cyber abuse. The Adult Cyber Abuse Scheme is the world’s first complaints-based, removal notice scheme for seriously harmful cyber-abuse being perpetrated against an Australian adult. This is a critical role that requires the ability to manage multiple complaints, investigations, or cases within unpredictable and ambiguous operating environments.
The Senior Investigator is responsible ensuring appropriate prioritisation and allocation of urgent matters, providing guidance and advice to investigators, managing more complex investigations, and advising the Manager on risks, regulatory options, and enforcement outcomes.
You will be able to focus on the goal of our agency to promote online safety for all Australians while navigating the uncertainty that comes with a constantly changing regulatory environment. You will have a positive outlook and will work within our regulatory limitations to address complainant reports, while showing resilience, maturity, and the ability to apply reason, common sense and sensitivity when assessing offensive or abusive material. You will be a self-driven and supportive team-player, with a demonstrated ability to achieve objectives even in difficult circumstances.
