HNC (www.hnc.org.au) is a not-for-profit organisation operating as one of 31 local, independent Primary Health Networks (PHNs) funded by the Australian Government to streamline primary health services and improve community health outcomes, especially for vulnerable populations. HNC delivers the PHN Program across the stunning North Coast region and works in partnership with primary health care providers in general practice, pharmacy, mental health, and other allied health sectors.
The Senior Manager, Community Impact will manage Healthy North Coast’s community programs and contracts, driving initiatives that build social connection and resilience and improve the health and wellbeing of communities. The Senior Manager will support the development of frameworks and systems to ensure that consumers and communities have an active voice in all aspects of Healthy North Coast activities. They will build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including health and social service providers, local government, community organisations, consumers, and communities to build place-based resilience.
The ideal person will have:
- A strong background in relationship management and building, with a track record of establishing and maintaining partnerships with community service providers and other stakeholders.
- Possess excellent attention to detail, demonstrating the ability to manage contracts, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with program requirements.
- Strong communication skills including proficiency in written and verbal communication for effective interaction with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with topics such as climate adaptation, disaster management, and community well-being and resilience are desirable, along with experience in monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
- Previous experience in program or contract management, particularly in the health sector or related fields, would be highly beneficial.
- Ability to execute tasks, solve problems, and coordinate activities in a pragmatic manner.
- Critical thinking skills to analyse information, identify discrepancies, and make informed decisions.
- Strong collaboration and coordination skills as well as working effectively with internal and external partners to achieve common objectives.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a willingness to identify and escalate issues as needed.
Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent in management experience, 8+ years in the health or community sector or other relevant discipline. In addition, demonstrated knowledge and understanding of community development, collective impact, the Australian health and social services system and the state and national policy environment is highly regarded.
