The Role
We are looking for a Senior Account Manager to join our energetic PR team, Bastion Amplify. You will set the standard of work, deliverables and deadlines in order to drive strong results for clients. A natural problem solver with fantastic organisational skills, you will identify opportunities for clients to leverage while inspiring your team to success.
Key responsibilities include
Client & Client Management
You develop and manage well performing Clients, deliver world-class work and foster positive relationships with clients, who see you as a trusted advisor.
- Leads the delivery of world-class work across a number of clients, managing the standard of work delivered, deliverables, deadlines and scope of work
- Autonomously sets team priorities, deliverables and deadlines and checks in with the team to ensure these are on track at all times
- Is a strong communicator who is able to influence clients and team members in order to get results. Communicates a clear purpose at all times
- Is a confident presenter in client meetings, with the ability to provide interpretation and insight into activity
- Forecasts potential issues and works to prevent client dissatisfaction proactively
- Problem solves when results aren’t coming, ensuring a solution is in place before it becomes an issue
- Manages Clients efficiently by being aware of budgets, capacity planning, scope of work
- Runs effective and efficient client and internal meetings with a clear purpose and outcomes
- Is a strong project manager who is able to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders, internally and externally
- Provides articulate and strategic briefs to suppliers that get results
- Thinks critically and strategically when reviewing any client work, putting yourself in the shoes of the client and asking ‘does this answer the brief/deliver against expectations?’
Media Relations
You cultivate and maintain strong tier one media relationships and lead the team in delivering best practice and strong coverage.
- Understands the media environment, including newsroom pressures, budgets and convergence, that operates today
- Produces high quality, accurate and complex media materials quickly that balance a client’s key messages and deliver an innate newsworthiness
- ·Has an eye for detail, producing error-free documentation every time that is formatted correctly, while proofing and providing constructive feedback on junior staff’s written work
- Understands what makes a story newsworthy, providing an ability to think creatively about where and how we can get coverage
- Is comfortable pitching to tier one media and working with journalists to develop strong, considered stories that delight clients
- Can spot the potential for negativity in media and extract a client
- Oversees and manages major client interviews, providing on-site support and detailed and considered briefing notes that factor in potential issues
Team Management
Manages a highly productive and effective team to deliver great work.
· Takes the lead on team motivation and satisfaction on clients to drive great results and staff satisfaction at work
Strategy & Business Development
- Understands what Bastion Amplify does in order to identify upsell opportunities on existing clients
- Understands each Bastion business in order to refer work to sister businesses
- Develops a strong understanding of client industries and businesses in order to provide valuable and strategic advice
- Contributes to the development of strategy in collaboration with the Client Director or Group Client Director
- Understands the objectives of the client and KPIs, in order to make strategic decisions that drive towards success
This would suit someone who
- Has Significant experience working in the PR industry in client management positions
- Has developed a strong understanding of the client industry (eg. B2B, FMCG, retail), the customer journey, market forces and each client’s business within it
- Understands the media environment, including newsroom pressures, budgets and convergence, that operates today
- Displays and fosters urgency among the team and the desire to do your best, always
- Is a true team player, not afraid to get your hands dirty to help junior or senior staff when required
- Embraces a flexible working culture, understanding agency life is a life of swings and roundabouts
- Contributes to the development of our culture by being involved and engaged in team activity
- Rolls with the punches on clients and maintains a positive and mature attitude
