About the Position
The Senior Statutory Planning Officer provides mentorship and guidance to the Statutory Planning team, ensuring a professional, customer focused and legislatively compliant planning service to Council, community members, internal and external stakeholders. The role provides high level support to the Coordinator Statutory Planning and the Manager Statutory Planning and Compliance. This is a permanent, full time position.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in statutory town planning with the demonstrated ability to interpret and apply the relevant legislation, in particular the Residential Design Codes. You will be experienced in supervising and mentoring staff to deliver exceptional customer service. Strong negotiation skills are critical in this role to deliver good outcomes for both the community and the City. Experience with the State Administrative Tribunal will be viewed favourably.
Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or a related relevant discipline is essential.
