We are looking for a full-time Sous Chef/ Chef de Partie who has a genuine passion for cooking and creativity to join the team of a new and impressive establishment in the Northern Beaches Area. The vibrant deli-style Mediterranean venue features an open kitchen, sourdough bakery, and premium produce selection. Work as part of a dynamic team to help establish this brand new family-run business.

Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Executive Chef in the creation and execution of seasonal menus.
- Developing kitchen services standards that ensure efficiencies and compliance.
- Contributing new ideas for continual improvement.
- Monitor portion and waste controls.
- Preparing and storing food in a safe and hygienic manner, following all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Managing inventory, including ordering supplies and ensuring that food is used before it expires.
- Ensuring that all kitchen equipment is clean and in good working condition and reporting any issues to the Sous or Executive Chef.
What We Look For:
- Strong understanding of Mediterranean cuisine, including cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavours is highly advantageous.
- Formal Hospitality Qualifications and/or 2 to 3 years of employment experience
- Thorough understanding of food safety standards and HACCP.
- Trade qualifications (i.e., Cert IV in Commercial Cookery).
- Ability to follow directions of the Sous or Executive Chef as well as delegate when necessary, ensuring that everyone is working together efficiently.
- Close attention to detail, ensuring that all food is cooked to the correct temperature and that all dishes are presented attractively.
- Organization skills, must be able to manage inventory, prioritize tasks, and ensure that the kitchen is clean and organized.
- Able to communicate clearly with other kitchen staff, servers, and management, ensuring that everyone is on the same page and that service runs smoothly.
