The owners of The Metz are on the hunt for a highly energetic, dedicated, and experienced Sous Chef to join the team.
Roles and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head Chef and Owner, the successful applicant will be expected to (but not limited to):
- Lead the kitchen team in the Head Chef's absence
- Manage daily kitchen activities (including overseeing kitchen staff, managing kitchen stock and ingredients and other various activities)
- Provide mentorship to junior chefs
- Assist in menu creation
Qualifications and requirements:
A minimum of five years culinary experience is required, with a deep understanding of modern Australian cuisine. The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate leadership ability, creativity and passion for the culinary arts. The candidate must have outstanding communication skills and the ability to work well in high intensity scenarios.
The successful candidate must also be available to work morning shifts as well as evening shifts where required.
