South Western Sydney Local Health District is seeking a dedicated, outgoing and purpose driven Speech Pathologist to join the Commonwealth Home Support Program team.This program is an amazing opportunity for a Speech Pathologist to build on their experience by working with a diverse client base. This role isn’t your typical style of Speech Pathology – through this program you will be working with clients who have a wide range of challenges, and you will be able to work with clients with a specific goal in mind.You will be working with clients on reabling them in their homes. Whilst working with the clients you will have the opportunity to view their life as a whole and work with them to achieve their vision of rehabilitation. You will have the chance to work with families and the wider community to provide a holistic approach to the client care.This role is a true challenge and will allow you to develop skills which cannot be achieved in a private or hospital setting. You will be working as the sole Speech Pathologist in an Allied Health team. You will become a part of your client’s life and see changes which will last a lifetime for these clients. To provide a high quality speech pathology service to patients/clients and their carers to ensure optimal health outcomes. This encompasses ensuring effective and efficient assessment and intervention in a multidisciplinary setting. The Speech Pathologist is also responsible for undertaking designated non-clinical tasks to support service delivery including clinical supervision, quality improvement activities and administrative tasks.Where You'll Be Working

View our for information on how to respond to criteria and . * Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Knowledge of and the demonstrated ability to implement the quality improvement process.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer literacy and time management.
- Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development and commitment to evidence based practice.
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge, experience and skills in communication and swallowing assessment and management in Community/Aged Care and/or Rehabilitation caseloads.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in modifying and adapting assessments and interventions to meet the need of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Populations
- Must possess a valid Australian Drivers Licence (excluding learner driver's licences). If not already in possession, a NSW Drivers Licence must be obtained within 3 months of appointment.
