The Opportunity
Reporting to our General Manager, you will be responsible for driving business unit and group-wide commercial and technical fleet and equipment outcomes to ensure the highest levels of driver, fleet, and equipment safety and compliance (including FRP & COR) and optimized utilization, reliability and unit costs to be commercially viable and protect our employees, customers, and the broader community.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the life of assets.
- Monitor and analyze fleet performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving measures and strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, addressing any issues promptly.
- Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts and service agreements.
- Prepare regular reports on fleet performance, maintenance activities, and cost analysis for senior management.
- Ensure all fleet operations adhere to safety standards and regulations.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Solid prior experience in fleet management, preferably in the waste management or logistics industry.
- Proven track record of managing a large fleet of vehicles and equipment.
- Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance practices, safety regulations, and National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS) and Heavy Vehicle National Law.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams to achieve performance goals.
