The Opportunity

Reporting to our General Manager, you will be responsible for driving business unit and group-wide commercial and technical fleet and equipment outcomes to ensure the highest levels of driver, fleet, and equipment safety and compliance (including FRP & COR) and optimized utilization, reliability and unit costs to be commercially viable and protect our employees, customers, and the broader community.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the life of assets.
  • Monitor and analyze fleet performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving measures and strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts and service agreements.
  • Prepare regular reports on fleet performance, maintenance activities, and cost analysis for senior management.
  • Ensure all fleet operations adhere to safety standards and regulations.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Solid prior experience in fleet management, preferably in the waste management or logistics industry.
  • Proven track record of managing a large fleet of vehicles and equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance practices, safety regulations, and National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS) and Heavy Vehicle National Law.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams to achieve performance goals.
