A unique opportunity for a highly motivated person to lead the delivery of statewide physiotherapy services in the Department of Education.
This permanent vacancy is part-time 0.5FTE and commences as soon as possible.
About the role:
Are you a leader in the provision of physiotherapy services in an educational setting? Do you have a vision for physiotherapy services as part of a progressive, high performing education system that raises the potential for every student?
The Queensland Department of Education's physiotherapy services support schools to identify barriers to student attendance, participation and learning, and to identify and support schools to implement reasonable adjustments to address those barriers.
The role of the Statewide Clinical Manager Physiotherapy will be to lead and manage the statewide departmental physiotherapy service to contribute to delivery of the Department of Education's Equity and Excellence strategy.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide statewide strategic and professional leadership and governance for physiotherapy services statewide.
- Provide professional and strategic advice to develop strategies, design programs, support clinical governance and manage systems to achieve effective delivery and continuous improvement of physiotherapy services delivered in state schools across Queensland.
- Maintain and develop performance and accountability frameworks and systems to support clinical governance, including performance indicators and measures and reporting regimes related to funding and delivery of departmental physiotherapy services.
- Lead and manage projects designed to focus physiotherapy services and resources on achieving the departmental equity and excellence priorities in a borderless service delivery model, including through the use of telepractice.
About You:
The successful applicant will have the following key attributes:
- Demonstrated ability to provide statewide leadership and management of physiotherapy services in an educational context which enables delivery of the department's strategic priorities.
- A very high level of knowledge in the field of physiotherapy including clinical practices and standards and a strong understanding and vision of the role of physiotherapy as part of a multi-tiered system of support for schools.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and problem-solve to address complex issues related to physiotherapy services.
- A very high level of written and oral communication skills to engage with a range of stakeholders, including the ability to develop written briefs and provide clear advice on complex matters impacting students with disability and the delivery of effective physiotherapy services.
- Demonstrated collaborative skills; demonstrating the ability to collaborate effectively across the department and government and non-government agencies.
