An exciting opportunity exists to join our Telecommunication Lines and Cables team based at our Coorparoo depot as a Telecommunication Trade Assistant (internally known as a Support Maintainer).We are looking for a self-motivated individual who is excited to progress their experience in telecommunications. We offer training and development including the opportunity to complete a Certificate III in Telecommunications with the view of becoming a Cable Jointer.About the role:In this opportunity you will work in a semi-autonomous team, supporting our tradesmen in civil labouring duties, maintaining cable route, ducts and pathways, installation of cable and associated infrastructure. You are accountable for ensuring all work is performed in accordance with technical and operational specifications and standards and report on actual work performed against the scheduled work program.Part of the position requires you to perform a safety role and gain the qualification of Protection Officer. You will be accountable for the compliance of our safety system and work as part of a team maintaining infrastructure critical to the safe operation and on time running of Queensland Rail services.Hours:The team usually work a 9 day, 76 hour fortnight. You must be available for a standby callout roster, one week in four - penalty rates apply.Salary:Base entry salary is $68,914 plus penalties, a generous superannuation scheme of up to 12.75%. Working the usual hours stated above on the entry salary and an average amount of overtime, members in the team average $90,000 annually, this is an indicator not a guarantee. - Must hold a current manual C class drivers licence
- Must have hands on civil labouring experience, pits and pipes will be relevant along with other telecommunications experience
- HR licence, dogger, forklift are desirable qualifications for the successful candidate.
