About the role:
We are seeking experienced and passionate Disability Support Workers for our SIL (Supported Independent Living) Accommodation Services. Our SIL accommodation supports people requiring 24-hour support.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will work collaboratively with participants by providing personalized one-to-one or two-to-one support. Your goal will be to help participants engage and enhance their daily living skills, strengthen relationships with families and carers, enhance social connections and community networks, and grow confidence and independence to live safely in the community.
About You:
We're looking for someone who:
- Has excellent people skills, experience in mental health care, and a sound understanding of NDIS requirements
- Can work on a 24/7 rotating roster in the Rockhampton area
- Is passionate about supporting individuals to realise their full potential.
- Administering personal care, including assistance with bathing, toileting, dressing, and grooming
- Has experience supporting participants in Supported Independent Living, advocating for their choices, and empowering, supporting, and enabling participants to achieve their goals and live their best lives
- Values honesty and integrity and has a proven track record when it comes to displaying these values in employment
- Can set clear, consistent, and kind boundaries and can follow employment guidelines
