The Role: Talent Acquisition Specialist

Dreaming of the sunshine state's coastal lifestyle? This role requires and offers support relocating to Queensland.

Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, our Talent Acquisition Specialist will play a crucial role in attracting, nurturing and placing exceptional talent within the Australian fashion industry. 

With ambitious growth goals for 2024 and beyond, this role will lead our unique recruitment process - hiring for culture & values alignment first (and always). 

Our ideal candidate will come equipped with an agency background (ideally in specialist fashion/retail) and an open-mind to approach in recruitment practices. You are naturally inspiring, passionate and place the highest degree of care to protect the candidate and employee experience. As an experienced recruiter from either in-house or agency, you will use your sourcing, attraction and selection expertise to ensure a seamless recruitment process, providing an exceptional experience for both hiring managers and candidates. 

  • Proactive Talent Acquisition strategies including talent pipelining and unconventional initiatives aimed at attracting top talent
  • Preparing engaging, fun and targeted job advertisements
  • Sourcing talent through a variety of traditional and contemporary sourcing channels, including direct outreach to passive candidates
  • Be the gatekeeper of our culture as the first point of contact for our candidates. Review resumes, conduct the first stage of interviews and prepare candidate summaries for hiring managers
  • Conduct reference checks and be the point of contact for new-starters prior to their commencement, ensuring a fantastic experience
  • Preparing and negotiating offers of employment and championing the Employee Value Proposition 
  • Continuously seek to improve the employee lifecycle systems and processes, ultimately putting DISSH on the map for Talent Acquisition.

On your first day, we expect you already have:

  • Proven expertise and demonstrated experience in specialist recruitment (fashion recruitment agency background highly regarded)
  • Inspiring and passionate disposition - you love the DISSH brand and values!
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Gift of the gab - you're quick on your feet and genuinely enjoy meeting and talking to people all day, every day
  • The ability to think strategically and develop long-term recruitment plans
  • Strong communication skills essential for effectively engaging with candidates and the DISSH team
  • The ability to think creatively and innovate contemporary recruitment methods to attract the best talent in the industry
  • Proficiency in leveraging technology to streamline and enhance the recruitment process
  • Experience in driving talent-related change initiatives
  • Strong grasp of employment brand management and direct sourcing techniques
