Your Role

The purpose of this position is to promote and sell the full range of Atlas Copco innovative bolting solutions and products within the state of WA through Distributors and directly to end-users across the mining and energy sectors.

To achieve the monetary and unit sales targets as set out annually by the Business Manager.

To succeed, you will need

Duties

  • Develop new accounts and distribution channels and service centres within allocated geographical territory
  • To supply technical back-up and training to customers and distributors on Atlas Copco products
  • Maintain and increase market share of designated areas
  • Identify new business and applications
  • Build long term relationships with Distributors
  • Maintain and apply accurate tender follow-up schedule
  • Attend trade shows and deliver product demonstrations, launches and presentations to selected customers
  • Keep self continually updated on product market and competition development and activities
  • Plan and execute daily call routing to maximise time management
  • Carry out any special tasks and duties allocated by Business Line Manager

CRM Utilisation

  • Use CRM for full range of customer management activities, including planning, recording contacts, generating and managing leads, converting leads to opportunities and then to quotation and contract.
  • Adopt best practices in use of CRM.

Sales Planning

  • Plan, on a regular basis (e.g. weekly, monthly and or quarterly) time allocation for calling on Suspects, Prospects and Clients by:
  • Identifying the target markets for each product.
  • Identifying the number of Suspects, Prospects and Clients in each target market segment.
  • Identifying the typical buying patterns and processes of customers.
  • Identifying the typical applications and relevant product mix required by each target market segment.
  • Considering sales targets vs. YTD results achieved for each targeted market segment and associated product mix.
  • Categorise existing Prospects and Clients appropriately based on their present and potential spending on as well as likelihood of success.
  • Working with the sales team to ensure collaborative efforts towards common objectives and eliminate duplication of efforts.

Perform capability demonstrations

  • Schedule appointments with customers to demonstrate Atlas Copco product capabilities.
  • Tailor demonstration to meet identified customer requirements.

Maintain rapport with customers

  • Maintain long term mutually beneficial customer relationships by;
  • Conducting periodic post-sale customer care visits
  • Resolving customer problems and ensure customer satisfaction.

Participate in internal communication

  • Actively participate in monthly sales team meetings, sales conferences, product launches and trade shows.
  • Communicate between the Division and sales team.
  • Actively participate in Toolbox meetings with your colleagues.
  • Provide regular feedback to the BLM (or delegate) regarding the market situation (e.g. competition, customers, projects etc) in your sales territory.
  • Provide regular feedback on any national accounts, cross boarder or divisional sales to your sales colleagues.
  • Utilise Quality Assurance system for reporting of Corrective and Preventative Actions (CPA).
  • Update regularly and maintain the company information in CRM.

Qualifications / Experience / Skills

  • Industrial or Power Tools sales experience
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Distributor management and development
  • Abiltiy to work in a high-pressure commercial environment
  • Presenting technical and commercial ideas and concepts to customers
  • Managing your own time and priorities in line with team objectives
