Mr Fothergill's Seeds is a market-leading supplier of Seeds, Propagation and Garden Gifting products within the Gardening and FMCG Industry. Our products are sold through garden centres, leading hardware stores and national retailer groups such as Bunnings, Big W and The Reject Shop, as well as thousands of independent garden retailers nationwide.
About the Role
We are currently looking for a dynamic Merchandiser / Sales Representative working in Sydney West, covering surrounding areas of Woolongong, Illawarra, South West Sydney and the Southern Highland
The primary function of this role is to drive and increase sales and distribution of Mr Fothergill's existing, and new products, throughout the territory. You will manage the nominated sales territory, perform promotional activity, build strong customer relationships, and oversee 3rd party serviced stores with the key performance measure being the achievement of sales budgets. The role is suited to someone that is passionate about merchandising, targeting new business, growing sales within existing customers and is looking for an opportunity to progress their sales career.
This role will have the successful candidate out on the road actively servicing our existing customer base, building relationships with existing customers, sourcing new business opportunities and achieving sales targets.
Your new position will involve:
- Merchandising
- Growing market share and product depth within the existing customer base.
- Achievement of sales budget.
- Developing strong relationships with all customers.
- Working closely with customers to set and execute promotional activity in key seasons.
- Provide accurate and prompt feedback regarding activity in your territory including competitor activity.
- Working with and training 3rd party merchandisers within your territory to ensure compliance to business and customer standards.
- Maintaining and servicing an existing account base along with expanding relationships with key customers in the industry to ensure Mr Fothergills is the product of choice in the DIY and FMCG sector.
- Working autonomously to manage and grow your customer base utilising effective planning and call cycle schedules.
- Some regional and overnight travel.
- Reporting on competition within the region
- Liaising with internal departments to respond to customer enquiries and resolve any customer issues.
- Continually seeking new business opportunities

- Current Australian Driver's license
