This role is introducing a new capability within the organization, and therefore the role will need to be a champion for the practice and uplift of existing people and processes. The role will be focused on building general testing capability (with focus on a critical program of work).
The solution to be introduced will require integration across multiple systems that are developed by external team or provided by external vendors. This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of software and product testing within the company. Including developing and implementing testing strategies, managing testing teams, and ensuring that all products meet the highest quality standards before they are released.
The role will be responsible for identifying any issues or risks associated with a product and working closely with other teams to resolve these issues. As a Test Manager, you will need to have a strong understanding of software development and testing methodologies, as well as excellent problem-solving skills. You will also need to have strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Develop a comprehensive Test Strategy and test plans aligned with program objectives, defining objectives, scope, resources, timelines, and associated risks.
- Develop a plan for building test function that can ensure the program can execute at agreed pace and build quality solution.
- Build a resource plan: including testers, environments, and tools.
- Lead and monitor testing activities in a multi-vendor, multi-platform environment across various phases (Functional, Systems Integration, UAT, Regression, Automation, Performance), overseeing test planning, design, review, defect management, and environment identification.
- Work with Program Manager and Delivery Manager to build data driven approach for release planning and increasing release frequency.
- Create, review, and manage test artifacts (test plans, progress reports, closure reports) across all testing phases.
Skills and Experience
Allocate resources efficiently for test execution, including testers, environments, and tools, based on test estimates and activities.
- Develop a comprehensive Test Strategy aligned with program objectives, defining objectives, scope, resources, timelines, and associated risks.
- Experience with testing of legacy and modern SaaS based systems.
- Proven Leadership Skills: Successful Test Managers have experience in managing and leading teams. They should be able to guide and motivate their team members (Technical and non-Technical Test Analysts)
- Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver business-fit solutions promptly.
- Strong understanding of software development and testing methodologies
- Strong Project Management Skills, the ability to prioritize competing demands and manage testing projects efficiently.
- Develop a comprehensive Test Strategy and test plans aligned with program objectives, defining objectives, scope, resources, timelines, and associated risks.
