It's the reason we're one of the top 20 universities in the world and a member of Australia's prestigious Group of Eight. If you want a career where you can thrive, be challenged and do meaningful work, you're in the right place.
Why Your Role Matters:
Since its foundation in 1949, UNSW Sydney has had a clear vision - “to improve lives globally, through innovative research, transformative education and commitment to a just society”. Without the hard work of our Development team, many of UNSW's accomplishments would not be possible.

This position is responsible for administrative activities and coordination to support the team's achievement of significant philanthropic revenue targets.

  • Support the preparation of donor materials, such as grant applications, proposals, expressions of interest, grant reports, agreements, emails, presentations, and acknowledgment letters.
  • Research the giving interests of institutional funders and stay abreast of philanthropic trends and recent corporate/foundation giving.
  • Collaborate with Faculty Finance teams and the Research Grants and Contracts Office to ensure appropriate and timely management and reporting of philanthropic grant activity across the University.
Who You Are:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in fundraising preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to present information in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Understanding and practical ability in donor/sales related databases (ideally Raisers Edge but not vital).
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, commitment to excellence and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of the principles of fundraising and tax laws that impact charitable giving, personal assets and trusts and foundations.
  • Experience working effectively in a large complex organisation and demonstrated ability to influence and garner support and commitment for projects.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple teams and with a variety of skill and communication styles.
  • Self-motivated with ability to manage projects with minimal supervision.
