Timber Operations Supervisor

Who We Are:

Founded in 1991, Deltareef is the premier construction company in North East Arnhem Land. Based in Nhulunbuy, NT, we design, manage & deliver infrastructure projects to our clients wishes. Owed by the Gumatj people we work closely with Traditional Owners, Government, and private organisations to supply hardwood timber and construct and maintain buildings across the Arnhem Region.

The position:

We are looking for a person experienced in leading a hardwood timber harvesting, milling, and finishing operation.

The role:

Reporting to the Construction Manager your role will include:

• Leadership of the timber operators including indigenous crew
• Complete management of Timber Operations including sales, facilities management, equipment upkeep (2 x mahoe sawmills, 2 x tractors, trucks, 2 x four head planers and associated equipment)
• Timber operations improvement plans and implementation.
• Access and assessment of viable areas of local Darwin Stringy Bark for cutting.
• Leadership to ensure safely is a priority especially management of the team falling trees with chainsaw and loading onto HR truck for transportation.

What We Offer:

• Negotiated salary package up to $175,000 (Including: Base salary, super, housing & vehicle).
• Relocation assistance: flights and/or travel expenses which will be negotiated with successful applicant.

Experience Required:

• 5+ years of experience in a management position of a hardwood logging / sawmill operations
• Good communication skills both verbally and competent on computer / iPad
• Excellent safety experience and leader in WHS application
• HR licence (desirable)
