About You
Are you an enthusiastic and motivated Technical Officer that can prioritise, investigate and respond to traffic related inquiries and requests that will require your initiative and judgement to undertake assessment of temporary traffic management applications and audits of worksites. You will also provide recommendations, request improvements and provide technical advice regarding options to improve traffic management. You will require a high level of customer service using effective liaison and communication skills with the public, ratepayers and external organisations.
The Traffic Team
The Road Operations section is primarily engaged in traffic operations and corridor management activities that contribute to a safe and functional transport network. This includes not only the road corridor but also streetlighting, traffic signals, signage and parking infrastructure.
About the position
The Technical Officer Traffic carries out a variety of activities in relation to the prioritisation, investigation of, and response to Temporary Traffic Management (including but not limited to: Work on Roads permits, letters of no objection to road use activities, temporary road closures). The Technical Officer Traffic also assists in duties including but not limited to investigating customer requests relating to road network operation, signage and linemarking, works within the road reserve, heavy vehicle permits and parking. This role will require the application of a high level of skills and knowledge appropriate to the work area.
This is a Temporary Full-time position for 11 months and is based in Toowoomba CBD.
The base salary for this position (Level 4 or 5 depending on level of experience) $77,223.52 - $87,970.19 gross per annum, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.

How to be successful in this position
Review the Position Description for Level 4 and 5 mandatory qualification(s), training and/or experience, as outlined under the 'Success Criteria'.
Outcome and Result Focused in time management skills.
Interpersonal and Communication in administration and customer service skills
Technical Skills/Knowledge in road network management and statutory regulations, code of practice, legistlation, and design standards.
