Job description:
This role is part of the SEQ Operations Roster Centre Team and is located at the Rail Management Centre Bowen Hills. The role supports the planning, compliance, and allocation functions for Rail Traffic Crew resources through various systems, to achieve optimal utilisation and meet business needs in accordance with all relevant industrial instruments and legislative requirements.

Overview of the main responsibilities:
Prepare, implement, and maintain cost effective and efficient short-term allocation of Traincrew resources to ensure Queensland Rail business needs are satisfied in accordance with the relevant legislation.
Ensure the allocation of daily leave meets the industrial agreement and the planned unavailability of resources (leave, training, medicals) is accurately reflected in the computerised roster system and appropriate reallocation of resources is effectively delivered to meet business needs.
Ensure Traincrew rostered resources are allocated to meet special events, maintenance programs and planned and unplanned service disruptions.
Develop, manage, and provide regular reports to Supervisors and Management on key performance indicators and implement actions to achieve continual performance improvement.
Assist and support the Roster Office Co-ordinator and Service Delivery Allocation Co-ordinator roles to manage problems/changes to resource allocations, customer requirements and impact of planned and unplanned disruptions.
What you will bring to the role:
Have a strong knowledge of legislation, policy and crew operations knowledge within the transport industry.
Be an astute planner, organiser, and problem solver so you can manage competing priorities within a commercially focussed environment.
Strong conflict management, consultation, and negotiation skills to effectively allocate personnel and achieve operational objectives.
