About the Role:
As our Training & Development Coordinator, you'll play a pivotal role in coordinating clinic-wide training initiatives. Collaborating closely with team members, you'll ensure training and induction timelines are met while identifying and nurturing individual growth opportunities. Your innovative approach will drive our 'grow your own' philosophy, shaping our induction and training programs to excellence.
Responsibilities Include:
Administration:
- Develop, implement and monitor the ongoing effectiveness of a comprehensive training and development program that:
- facilitates The Austin’s vision of ‘grow’ their talent pool.
- creates satisfaction and career path opportunities for team members.
- ensures exceptional patient and client care is provided.
- Facilitating induction processes for various team members, ensuring adherence to timelines and checklists.
- Developing a robust work placement program to attract top-quality candidates.
- Work closely with Department Coordinators to gain awareness of training and knowledge gaps, discrepancies in delivery of service vs P&Ps, and all other training and development functions.
Technical:
- Work across all departments to ensure that exceptional patient and client care is provided, with regular assessments of skills and observations and appropriate intervention (together with HR Coordinator) to individuals or groups as needed.
- Utilising daily workflow as learning opportunities to work with Department Coordinators and Hospital Coordinator to coach and mentor individuals or groups as required on the floor.
- Coordinate with Department Coordinators and/or Operations and/or Hospital Coordinator to show the team how to use any new machinery or equipment in the clinic, and coordinate the creation of related P&Ps.
- Monitoring all P&Ps and standards of care are accurately recorded, distributed, and updated as required by Department Coordinators, Hospital Coordinator and Operations.

What We're Looking For:
We're seeking a candidate who has:
- Passion for training and development
- Proven ability to improve both the clinical skills of the team as well as their own, ie actively pursues this through continuing education and growth mentality.
- Familiarity with effective adult training methods and techniques, and a demonstrated ability to develop and deliver engaging in-person and virtual training.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write concise and clear documentation and to influence and motivate others to learn
- Ability to relate well with a variety of people, adapting to different learning styles and
- personalities
- Ability to work under limited supervision and use initiative to complete tasks to achieve timelines
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a medical setting is advantageous (e.g. Cert IV Veterinary Nursing)
- Qualifications in training and assessment are desirable (e.g. Cert IV Workplace Training and Assessment)
- Demonstrated emotional intelligence and resilience
- Ability to innovate and adapt to changing circumstances
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
