THE ROLE
The Training Manager role is a national role positioned at our NSW training facility and is responsible for managing the overall delivery of our training & assessment. This includes overseeing plant/equipment scheduling and maintenance, trainer onboarding, and managing our pool of trainers and assessors.
The role reports to and will work closely with the General Manager and will ensure we continue to set the benchmark for excellence in training & safety, and deliver consistent & exceptional customer service.
Your main duties will include:
- Oversee quality training and assessment to clients in compliance with all relevant RTO Standards and legislation and within required timeframes
- Managing positive relationships with trainers and other stakeholders
- Onboarding new trainers with the support of General Manager and other stakeholders
- Work with the training and assessing team to ensure the effective, efficient and consistent delivery
- Respond to day-to-day trainer inquiry regarding operational matters and training delivery
- Work with the Training and Assessing team and the Quality & Compliance team to undertake moderation and validation activities
- Liaise with the Administration team to assist with scheduling training staff, and plant and equipment for the training calendar.
- Provide SME review of training materials as requested
- Support the design aspects of any new training sites
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge - attending educational workshops, forums, review professional publications, establish personal networks, participate in team discussions etc.
- Maintain own qualifications, vocational and training/assessment, industry currency and ongoing professional development to the required RTO industry standards
- Participate in Trainers Meetings, Team Townhalls & Workshops as required
- Other duties and tasks in their functional area aligned to their capability, skills and experience as directed by the General Manager
KNOWLEGDE & EXPERIENCE
- Experience with Australian Quality Training Framework and Vocational Education and Training (VET) Quality Framework legislative compliance requirements
- Experience in an RTO environment delivering relevant and engaging training to a diverse range of students
- Thorough understanding of national vocational competencies and assessment instruments
- Understanding of WHS requirements and ensure that your work practices reflect this
- Experience leading, managing and directing other people, including face to face & in performance reviews
