Appointment Pool
Asset Planning and Services is seeking to establish a pool of Training Officers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2024 and up to the end of March 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within 2024, up to the end of March 2025.

The Role and our Branch
Currently, we have two permanent positions for immediate filling and one fixed term contract.
The Asset Planning and Services Branch is seeking experienced and engaging Training Officers to join our dynamic and supportive training team.
A background in the delivery of gardening or cleaning workshops is highly desirable but not essential.
The Asset Planning and Services Directorate is responsible for the development of strategic asset plans, policies and processes within an asset planning framework, long term land planning for schools and the management of the Department’s land estate. The Directorate also provides services to schools on security and emergency management, environmental services, statistical and demographic planning services and property management.

Suitable applicants will deliver workforce training programs that align with department and legislative requirements. You will work collaboratively with the training team and key stakeholders to ensure the learning outcomes reflect the skills and knowledge required of today’s workforce. You will also conduct training needs analysis to identify competency gaps and provide evidence-based recommendations to enhance program effectiveness and the translation of learning to practice.
You will contribute to a work environment that is safe, fosters equity and diversity, enables the achievement of personal and Education Business Services (EBS) goals and facilitates accomplishment of designated roles and deliverables. As Training Officer, you will ensure compliance with the departments policies, procedures and standards.

Demonstrated experience in developing, delivering and evaluating training programs.
Demonstrated good interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to engage and work with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Demonstrated initiative and good organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines, identify priorities and work independently or as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes and deliver quality products and services consistent with organisational requirements.
Demonstrated skills and experience in using Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook) and learning management systems.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter.
complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check if required
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
