About The Role
Our client is actively seeking a detail-oriented Trust Accountant on a Parental Leave12 Month contract to ensure precise financial management and compliance with regulatory standards. This role will see you performing audits, maintaining accurate journals, ensuring proper ledger management, and conducting thorough reconciliations. The Trust Accountant will verify all financial operations adhere to the trust's guidelines and legal requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Audit trust accounts, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Manage receipt and payment journals with detailed records.
- Oversee transfers and ensure clear narrations in journals.
- Maintain accurate records of funds held by financial institutions.
- Monitor suspense accounts and report unclaimed money as necessary.
- Follow up on outstanding credits and cheques diligently.
- Ensure prompt and correct banking of receipts.
- Uphold strict accounting controls and verification processes.
- Maintain and review trust ledger accounts for irregularities.
- Perform regular reconciliations and verify all transactions.
