About the role
This position is responsible for workplace rehabilitation and Injury Management services and support to the organisation where employees have suffered a work-related injury, illness or condition, in accordance with legislative, self-insurance and organisational requirements to ensure their safe return to the workplace.
This position is the primary conduit between an employee, their supervisor/manager and treating medical and allied health professionals in the identification, facilitation, negotiation and implementation of a safe workplace rehabilitation program where the employee may be suffering from a physical and/or psychological injury, illness or condition.
About you
Our ideal applicant will have:
- Proven experience for high level case management to a diverse, multi-disciplined organisation for work related injuries, illness and conditions and early intervention programs.
- High level of computer skills including competent use of Microsoft Office suite of applications and ability to effectively utilise other business management systems (i.e. HRIS Systems, Figtree) utilised by the unit for Injury Management and rehabilitation cases.
- Sound knowledge of current and emerging rehabilitation and Injury Management trends.
- Proficient knowledge of contemporary human resource management practices, with a focus on wellbeing and case management of health-related matters.
- Proven ability to educate, influence, coach, mentor and forge strong stakeholder relationships based on the provision of informed, sound services and support that builds an environment of trust and respect.
- Demonstrated exceptional verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to effectively liaise, consult and facilitate with both internal customers and external stakeholders.
- High level of writing skills including the ability to develop and produce formal correspondence to injured/ill employees, supervisors, managers and treating or independent health practitioners.
- Demonstrated personal resilience and self-awareness.
- Demonstrated ability to model the highest standard of ethical and professional behaviour and act with integrity and confidentiality whilst representing council internally and externally.
- Hold relevant Rehabilitation and Return to Work accreditation.
- Current “C” class drivers licence.
