THE OPPORTUNITY
This dynamic and challenging position is responsible for all matters pertaining to the maintenance and repair of Council's extensive fleet assets, including leading the team of mechanics based in Dubbo and Wellington. You will have the opportunity to work autonomously and will be responsible for planning and scheduling required works to ensure that Council's works continue with minimal disruption.
DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Effectively manage the day-to-day operation of the Dubbo and Wellington Fleet Workshops including Field Service.
- Carry out and assist mechanics with diagnosis and repairs of complex systems and equipment including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
- Lead Workshop Teams in Dubbo and Wellington
- Effectively communicate with key stakeholders regarding machine maintenance and availability to minimise disruptions to works/ construction projects.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED
- Certificate IV in a relevant discipline or Qualified and licenced Heavy Vehicle or Plant Mechanic/Motor Mechanic with demonstrated solid experience in the trade.
- Demonstrated experience in supervision and leadership of a small team.
- Experience with Asset Management Systems and Software.
- High level of communication skills.
- Demonstrated competency in computer operation and data entry.
