Job Description
Due to our Acciona, MACA, AECOM (AMA) Alliance being selected as the preferred proponent on the Ring Road Completion Project we are seeking to appoint a Purchasing Officer working out of the Collingwood project office.
The Project
The project will deliver a major upgrade of the M80 Ring Road between the M80-Plenty Road interchange and the North East Link tunnel entrance at Watsonia, providing a seamless connection to North East Link. Works includes 2km of new freeway upgrade, 3km of new freeway, separation of local roads from the freeway, bulk earthworks, retaining walls, bridge structures, rail interface works, intelligent transport systems, urban design and landscaping. This diverse and challenging project will be complete in 2028.
Key accountabilities for the position
- Data entry process of purchase orders as required through LinkedSite.
- Provide a tender price analysis to demonstrate best for project pricing against budget estimate.
- Ensure all requisitions are coded to the correct cost code with the assistance of budget owners.
- Data entry process of purchase orders as required through LinkedSite.
- All purchases must have a signed off purchase requisition before placing any purchase orders.
- Correlation of purchase orders and purchase requisitions with invoices.
- All purchases to be approved and within project budget.
- Maintain an up to date Plant Hire Register for suppliers (Items on hire & items off hire).
- Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience working in the civil construction industry.
- Sound written and verbal communication skills, planning and organising skills with the ability to multitask.
- Proficient skills in the following software: MS Excel, MS Word, email.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others and independently.
