We have an exciting new opportunity for an AO4 Accountant. In your new role, you will work within Finance in the Budget and Performance Management team that provides a wide range of essential budgetary and performance monitoring services to the department.
In the role as Accountant, you will assist the team in delivering a range of management accounting support, advice, analysis and guidance to senior management and clients on issues of significance to the fiscal performance of Queensland.
The team has a highly collaborative culture that will help you develop professionally in delivering support to a central government department.
In this role, you will:
Contribute toward the preparation of departmental Budget Papers and budgetary briefs for estimate hearings.
Participate in the provision of professional and specialist advice to both internal and external stakeholders on budgetary and financial management matters.
Assist internal clients with the development of budget and ongoing monitoring of financial performance.
Contribute toward the preparation of management reports and other ad hoc reports.
Assist in developing and maintaining strong and constructive relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the effective management of departmental financial resources within Government priorities and in accordance with the Queensland public sector legislative framework.
Work as part of the team in delivering financial services whist participating in a work environment which delivers a skilled, motivated and productive work team committed to organisational goals.
What experience you will bring:
- exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- demonstrated experience in financial analysis and management reporting
- strong written and verbal communication skills.
There are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, however, you will have a management accounting background and knowledge of accounting standards and relevant legislation.
