About Our Hospital
Merewether Veterinary Hospital has been serving the local community for over 40 years. In 2020 we moved into a new, purpose-built hospital at Llewellyn St, and wish to warmly welcome a new staff member to our team.
MVH is owned by three experienced veterinarians, Drs Christopher Holland, Karen Catchpole and Felicity Cole; and supported five other veterinarians and a team of dedicated veterinary nurses. Our hospital has a professional, friendly, and positive atmosphere and we strive to provide the best care for our patients and clients.
About The Position
The position is permanent part-time, for 10 to 12 hours per week, with exact days and times to be agreed upon. The role can be completed during school hours if preferred. The primary responsibilities of the position are to administrate the accounts payable/receivable, facilitate payment of staff weekly wages, and to manage the office needs of our veterinary hospital. We have a long term relationship with a local accounting firm that together with the three owners, manage the taxation aspects of the practice, and provide support to this role.
Previous bookkeeping experience is essential, and familiarity with XERO software is preferable but not essential. Previous experience in a veterinary hospital is not necessary. It is expected that some telephone or reception duties will be involved in role.
The ideal candidate will be a diligent, honest, and caring person, a good communicator, and a friendly team member. Remuneration is commensurate with experience and above award rates.
