Position Purpose
Accounts Payable Officer reports to the Finance Manager, this role will have the direct responsibility for managing Accounts Payable processes and documentation, and experience in supervising the day-to-day transactional AP function.
Duties and key responsibilities
- Efficient and accurate processing of invoices and Accounts Payable function
- Reconciliation of Supplier SOA with our financial systems
- Review and reconcile accruals in the systems and investigate for the over accrual.
- Maintain the filling system for all Accounts Payable transactions.
- Ensure GST is processed correctly for all supplier invoices
- Assemble invoices to be completed for payment
- Review invoices and requisitions for satisfactory payment approval
- Obtain proper information and/or data regarding supplier payments
- Ensure payment of Accounts Payable within terms whilst giving consideration to the cash flow requirements of the business
- Provide remittance advices for payments made
- Responding to queries in a timely manner
- Investigating and resolving payment discrepancies
- Working with the operations team in relation to invoices, plan matters, service agreements, payments, and general enquiries.
- Weekly Reporting of creditor’s outstanding and accrual in the financial systems
- Providing information and reporting to internal and external parties as required
- Reconcile bank statements
- Manage and handle the AP inbox
- Overlook and manage back-office AP Processes
- Other finance task as directed by Finance Manager
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 2 years work experience in Accounting in the Freight forwarding industry preferable.
- Strong MS Office skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook & Accounting Software
- Ability to efficiently adapt to new software systems.
- High attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills & stakeholder management skills
- Customer service and numeracy skills are required.

- Pre-existing knowledge of air and sea freight shipping terms is preferred.
