About the Position
As an Administration Officer you are responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office. You will be required to handle a variety of tasks, including management of office supplies, scheduling meetings, answering and directing incoming calls, and directing email-based queries to the appropriate department. The Administration Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining a productive and organized work environment, supporting the smooth functioning of the office and facilitating effective communication both internally and externally. This role is a 3-month fixed term contract within our housing and homelessness department based at the HUB.

Position responsibilities
- Routine activities of a clerical and/or support nature.
- Data input and word processing at a basic level.
- Provide routine information including general reception and telephonist duties.
- Apply established practices and procedures.
- Undertake routine office duties involving filing, recording, checking and batching of accounts, invoices, orders, stores requisitions and maintenance of an existing records system.

Key Relationships
- Works collaboratively with Anglicare NQ Executives, Managers, Staff and Volunteers.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with Anglicare NQ partners, other Non-Government Organisations (NGO) and local community businesses.
- QLD and Commonwealth Government Departments, e.g. Department of Human Services, Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs and other government departments as required.
Special Conditions
- Hold a current QLD drivers licence ‘Class C’ or interstate equivalent
- Blue Card (Working with children card)

Selection Criteria
Essential
- Developing knowledge of workplace functions and operations, work practices and policies.
- Basic knowledge of practices and procedures for the workplace.
- Basic numeracy, written, and verbal communication skills.

Highly Regarded
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families and communities.
- Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
