JOB DESCRIPTION
Bar Wa Izakaya, Hobart, Tasmania, has a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice Chef to join our team! This is a chance to develop your skills and gain experience in a busy commercial kitchen with a skilled group of qualified chefs, focusing on Japanese cuisine with a bit of fusion. Within the busy establishment you will have the opportunity to learn all aspects of the kitchen from early morning prep shifts to lunch time ramen & izakaya dining.
Please note: You should have a minimum up to 6 months previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
REQUIREMENTS
What we are looking for:
- A passion and dedication for cooking; no prior professional experience is required, although some experience will give you an edge.
- Can do attitude, initiative & ability to follow directions
- Ability to work as part of a motivated team
- Availability to work full time; including nights and early mornings
- Eager to learn and commit to a 3-4 year Apprenticeship
- Full working rights: Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident
- An Interest in Japanese cuisine & culture would be a plus.
