JOB TITLE: APS 5/6 Program Officer SECURITY CLEARANCE: Negative Vetting 1 or higher CONTRACT LENGTH: ASAP Start for a 9 month contract PAY RATE: $53p/h - $60 p/h + Super Location. Canberra, ACT REF NUMBER: 1172921 About the Client This Australian federal government department is responsible for foreign policy and relations such as international aid, consular services and trade and investment. About the Role As the Program Officer you will assisting to delivering a flagship Government program that contributes to Australia’s influence internationally. The successful candidate will be shaping the partnership with universities and the private sector to support Australian undergraduates to undertake study, language training and internships. This is a unique opportunity to engage directly with inspiring young Australians and contribute to the management of a signature program that enjoys strong ministerial and senior stakeholder interest. You will work on delivery of the NCP program, including management of a contracted service provider, and on corporate issues with internal and external partners. This position supports financial and contract management, as well as coordinates activities related to procurement, budgeting and risk management. Key duties include:
Manage financial arrangements for the NCP program, including budget monitoring, payment processing and EOFY processes,
Monitor delivery and quality of contracted services and co-ordinate NCP Secretariat feedback for the contractor,
Develop advice and documentation to inform current and future finance and contracted services arrangements,
Perform other program management tasks including procurement and risk management,
Support the Contract Manager and work closely with the contracted services provider as the primary day to day point of contact,
Undertake other duties as required.
About You

You will have financial, contract and program management, skills. Experience in procurement, budgeting, and Microsoft Excel is desirable.
