The Role

Are you looking for an opportunity to further your career in a dynamic and supportive environment whilst providing critical capability support to the Royal Australian Navy? Maritime Cross-Platform Systems Program Office (MCPSPO), located in Sydney CBD, is looking for highly motivated and experienced candidates with a demonstrated understanding of and/or experience in contracting to join our Services Team in the APS 6Contract Manager (Supplier Relationship Management) role.

The APS 6Contract Manager is responsible for building and maintaining commercial and internal Defence stakeholder relationships in the delivery of MCPSPO contracted service offerings. They will build sound co-operative relationships with both their Suppliers and Defence stakeholders to ensure alignment of Defence priorities and capability requirements are understood by all parties.

They will manage supplier contracts and performance and ensure stakeholder satisfaction is met as per service agreements. In doing so they will use key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and challenge performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. This role has people management responsibility and as such you will be required to exercise your people management skills and knowledge to lead and support in the position.

The additional payment is a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP) which enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the rate of salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement (EA) to some or all of the jobs within a critical occupation(s) or discipline within a workplace. Applicants engaged into a BDCP position must consider the following. BDCPs provide remuneration in addition to the Defence Enterprise Agreement (EA). This arrangement is subject to meeting eligibility criteria and is subject to annual review. Should your performance fall beyond requirements or the eligibility criteria not be met, your eligibility for the BDCP may be reviewed and ceased. It may also be ceased should you change positions or the requirement for the BDCP is no longer necessary, as determined by Defence. Should the BDCP be ceased you will be advised and your BDCP additional payment will cease.

About our Team
The MCPSPO within Maritime Systems Division, is responsible for the delivery of Cross-Class sustainment services and advice across the maritime environment. MCPSPO sustains and manages a range of complex military systems and supplies, through an extensive network of industry partners, domestic and off-shore.

Our operating environment is complex and challenging, and requires exceptional contract and relationship management skills. MCPSPO is comprised of three functions, including Commercial, Sustainment and Engineering cells. The teams bring together a diverse range of knowledge, skills and experience to deliver Cross-Class products and services to our Maritime customers.
