Our client is seeking to engage an APS6 People Services Project Officer.
Location: Townsville, QLD
Contract Length: up to 6-month contract

Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated People Services generalist officer to join our team on a temporary basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in one or more of the human resource functional areas, with a proven track record in delivering high level HR advice, service and support to internal customers and senior management. The candidate must be agile and adaptive and able to move between different projects/work tasks.
Duties:
- Provision of high-quality HR services and advice, which promotes consistency and best practice.
- The ability to engage with senior leaders, provide advice and influence outcomes is core to the success of this role, as is the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues across the Commonwealth. Within the People Services function, the APS6 is accountable under broad direction to perform complex HR work.
- Work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes.
- Exercise both initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures.
- Effectively engage with stakeholders in relation to complex issues, anticipating and responding to stakeholder needs and expectations to achieve the sections and the Agency outcomes.
- Support project management activities.
- Knowledge of contemporary human resource practices and systems.
- Formal qualifications in Human Resources or 3+ years' experience in HR related role.
- Project management qualifications or experience managing or supporting projects.
- Experience in a HRIS and recruitment/onboarding platforms and policy development & implementation.
- Experience in one or more key functional areas within HR (e.g., Recruitment, Learning and Development, Payroll, Employee Relations, or Project Management).
