The Opportunity
Due to the rapid growth, we are currently looking for a dedicated Assistant Accountant to join our close-knit Finance team in supporting the Finance Manager in executing day-to-day financial operations of the company. This role involves ensuring precision and efficiency in financial record-keeping and reporting, while collaborating closely with the finance team to maintain accurate financial records. The successful candidate will receive training and full support from a CPA!
The Job
- Account Reconciliations:
- Conduct thorough account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies promptly to maintain financial integrity.
2. Accounting Records Maintenance:
- Maintain meticulous accounting records and files, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory standards.
- Regularly update financial databases and software with the latest information to facilitate smooth financial operations.
3. Assistance to Financial Statements Preparation:
- Work closely with the Finance Manager to prepare financial statements and reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist in gathering relevant financial data and information to support the preparation process.
4. Month-end & Year-end Close Processes Support
- Aid in month-end and year-end close processes by assisting with journal entries, ledger maintenance, and other closing activities.
- Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and accounted for before closing periods.
4. Internal & External Audits Support
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation, financial records, and other requested information.
- Collaborate with auditors to address inquiries and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
5. Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as per requested, including processing invoices, verifying expenses, and issuing payments.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up with clients/vendors to ensure timely payments.
The Person
- Bilingual in Chinese and English
- Accounting degree holder
- Knowledge of relevant accounting principles and regulations.
- Currently pursuing or interested in pursuing professional accounting certifications such as CA (Chartered Accountant) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) equivalent qualifications
- Previous experiences in using Xero is high desirable
- Exceptional written and verbal communication
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Ability to adapt to multi-tasking, changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment with exceptional time-management and organizational skills.
- A quick leaner who can work both collaboratively and independently
