Assistant Function & Events Manager

Reporting to the Senior Function & Events Manager, MRC is looking for a Full-Time Permanent Assistant Function & Event Manager in the Food and Beverage department to coordinate and facilitate functions and events effectively and efficiently. The role is response for ensuring professional delivery of exceptional services to both internal and external stakeholders across our three racecourses: Caulfield, Ladbrokes Park (Sandown) and Mornington.

This position will work with the wider Food and Beverage department, focusing on casual staff management to identify key staff and implement improvements in line with the wider business needs.

Duties and responsibilities

• Be the “face” and a go to person of MRC for events & functions outside business hours.
• Set up, preparation and clean up pre- and post-race day and non-race day events.
• Ensure effective management of casual staff.
• Oversee several functions and events simultaneously.
• Deliver superior food and beverage service and maximise customer satisfaction.
• Troubleshooting issues to ensure smooth running of events for both clients and the internal team.
• Work with Food & Beverage Department on activities such as stock management, POS, coaching and training casual staff.

Skills and Experience

• Current RSA certificate.
• Current Victorian Drivers Licence.
• Proven experience in event management, functions and general staff coordination.
• A team player and an ability to lead by a hands-on work style.
• Exceptional Customer Service skills.
