The George on Collins is an institution of Melbourne, located the Paris end of Collins street we pride ourselves on our level of service regardless of the occasion, at the core we are a busy south-east asian restaurant, cocktail bar, late night and function venue catering to whatever the opportunity arises. As the company expands we are looking to fill the shoes of the Assistant Venue Manager who understands the demand of a venue with a 600+ capacity and a team of 80+ staff.
Who we are looking for;
We are looking for an Assistant Venue Manager who has taken the career path of hospitality and lives and breaths it. You will be able to adjust to whatever the occasion as we transition through different aspects of service daily and keep a calm demeanour. You will work closely with the venue manger and directors to maintain our level of service and be proactive to make adjustments to help us continue to improve and grow and with this the opportunity returned to you to grow as we expand further, we welcome opinion and action.
Successful candidates will have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role and environment, coupled with the following skills and attributes:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role for a similar size venue as a Restaurant Manager or Assistant Manager
- Solid and proven leadership experience
- Proven skills and experience with POS and common rostering systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Able to work well under pressure
- Ability to build relationships with a variety of internal & external contacts
- Decisive and able to make difficult decisions
