Harvey Golf Club Inc. (harveygolfclub.com.au) is an 18 hole grass green golf course located 90 minutes south of Perth, 35 minutes north of Bunbury, 40 minutes south of Mandurah
While the HGC Course can be played 7-days per week, the Clubhouse and Bar is currently open only 2-days (Wednesday and Saturday), outside major open events.
The Harvey Golf Club aims to improve utilisation of the Course by driving Member and Visitor participation in golf and make the Clubhouse amenity available outside regular competition days.
The Role of the Part-time Manager is;
- To ensure correct staffing and inventory for the smooth profitable running of the Bar during regular competition days and major events, and,
- To open the Clubhouse and Bar to Members and Public an additional day per week
The Role will commence as part-time 20-22 hours per week with potential, subject to on-going success of the club, evolve into a Full-time position.
Flexible work hours are offered but it is expected that the Bar Manager will work 1 weekend shift (6hrs) every 3/4 weeks as part of standard roster.
BAR MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare Staff Rosters
- Ensure all staff are trained with skills undertake their duties
- Monitor inventory and place orders
- Oversee cleanliness of staff and physical bar area,
- Ensure the HGC is compliant with all relevant legislation for the operation of a Licenced Club
- Review sales and beverage costs and work with the Bookkeeper and Treasurer to reconcile any discrepancies in accounting.
- Ensure proper cash management and balance of daily shift takings.
- Resolve customer complaints promptly and according to Club guidelines.
- Prepare monthly reports for the Management Committee.
- Make recommendations to the Management Committee to progress improvements in service, safety, hygiene and profitability
BAR MANAGER SKILLS
- Must have a current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) Certificate and an Approved Managers Licence (Required)
- Working knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Experience of POS tills, ideally SWIFTPOS (Required).
- High level of computer literacy, including Office 365 (Required)
- Knowledge of local and state regulations related to alcohol services, licence conditions and health code compliance (Required).
- Competency in resource management and inventory control (Required).
- Customer service orientation (Required).
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles (Desirable)
- Experience in personnel management and training (Required).
- Effective written and communication skills with a diverse range of people
- Active listening and complaint resolution skills
- High level of attention to detail (Required)
- Understanding of Social Media in Marketing (Desirable)
- Experience in a member-based organisation (Preferred)
Position is responsible to the nominated HGC Committee member.
